Ballet 4 You

A diagnosis with Alzheimer’s Disease is an overwhelming experience for everyone: the person with Alzheimer’s, their spouse or partner, children, grandchildren, extended family, friends and colleagues.  Everyone knows someone effected by Alzheimer’s so we have designed our website to be an accessible resource for everyone.  We hope to present information, recommendations, support and our approach in a fresh, respectful and positive way.

If you haven’t danced before, don’t worry.  The aim of our programme is not to have our participants joining the local ballet company, but rather that you enjoy our unique series of exercises, the regular interaction with our presenter Lisa Purchas, all while engaging the brain, strengthening the body, improving executive function and creating a sense of well-being.

We hope that you enjoy reading our interesting and regularly updated articles, consider enrolling in private lessons with Lisa or one of our practitioners, or watch and participate in our unique series of exercises soon to be uploaded to this page and online via YouTube and Vimeo.  You can easily navigate through links on our website to our dedicated Ballet 4 You – Ballet 4 Alzheimer’s YouTube channel, to Instagram or to our Facebook page.

You might also be interested in sponsoring us in our online endeavor to make all of our unique exercises available online to a global audience.   This way, people with Alzheimer’s and their carers can participate in our programme anywhere in the world, at any time of day and completely free of charge.

If you are a dancer or teacher, you may be interested in booking and attending one of our teacher training workshops planned for 2022.

The beautiful arm and hand movements of 'Ballet 4 You' uplift and inspire us, reduce tension, improve posture, breathing and feeling of well being.
